CEO & President
Trent Crawford, the CEO and President of Karmic Energy, is a successful business owner with nearly 15 years of experience in operations management. Before launching Karmic Energy in October 2014, Crawford co-founded a water transfer company Precision Frac in 2013 with four other business partners.
His operations management and customer service success contributed to the company’s explosive growth in delivering high-performance water transfer equipment and supplies to the fracking industry. The company’s performance was recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of “America’s Most Promising Companies for 2015.”
Crawford is a self-driven entrepreneur with extensive knowledge in all facets of business development, from customer service to employee management and logistics. Prior to founding Karmic Energy, Crawford owned and operated a successful automotive transmission business in Midland, Texas, for 12 years.
In addition to his business background, his intimate knowledge of the auto industry gives Crawford unique insights into the oilfield business. His technical knowledge affords him the ability to maintain hands-on involvement with equipment, machinery, and system installations, giving him an uncommon ability to custom-engineer solutions for customers’ technical problems that have gone overlooked by other vendors.
When not developing solutions for customers, he applies his engineering and operations capabilities to building and racing cars competitively — his passion since he was 13 years old.
Fred Darnell, serves as Chief Technology Officer for Karmic Energy. He is an experienced and motivated leader with success leading B2B web service product development initiatives. Darnell’s first solution developed for the company is the Karmic Energy Automated Tank Measurement & Monitoring System, a breakthrough product that will bring the digital oilfield to life with a platform for monitoring and measuring the mission-critical water transfer systems used to support drilling and fracking operations.
For the last 12 years, Darnell has worked as a Cloud Computing Environment Adoption Leader for one of the world's leading financial institutions. In addition to his work there, Darnell has served as the President and CEO of Biological and Popular Culture, Inc., an innovative monitoring and automation services company. Additionally, he was practice manager at Osprey Systems, Inc., and served as partner and product manager at My Customer Cards, Colonial Technologies, and Applied Identification and Information Systems, Inc.
Darnell’s entrepreneurial spirit and impressive background has afforded him success with complex global organizations to dynamic start-ups, proving his ability to manage in varying dynamic environments. In his spare time, Darnell builds and flies experimental aircraft. He also volunteers his piloting time for a number of charitable causes including flying injured birds of prey to treatment and rehabilitation centers and transporting dogs to rescue shelters across the southeastern U.S. When not volunteering, he is an avid sea-kayaker and scuba diver.
